ANSWERS ABOUT RUNNING INJURY

RUNNING INJURIES

Chronic and new injuries that are unnecessary

Running is an amazing recreational and sport activity. I’m amazed at the ability of the human body to run in any terrain dozens of miles and any type of weather condition. Runners always love a challenge. They love to see if they can push themselves. What’s the downside? Most runners run in pain. Not talking about the pain of exertion or fatigue I’m talking about pain in your joints, tendons, and ligaments of your back, your hips, your knees, your ankles and your feet. A lot of runners think it’s a great accomplishment that they can run maybe three or five miles while in pain. They think they’re going to get an award or be rewarded for running and suffering. Running injuries are chronic or have been occurring for a long time caused by altered bio mechanics. If you watch professional runners their mechanics are great and their injuries are minimal and managed when they first occur. Professional running coaches DO NOT encourage their runners to perform hard training and race when they have injuries. They require them to treat and take care of the injuries to resolve it—Runner's knee, IT band syndrome, shin splints, ankle sprains, Plantar Fasciitis, Swollen knees, even low back pain.

Does this sound like your current state?
You’re in luck. Chiropractors can correct these running injuries. With joint adjustments, and physical therapy. Now don’t think these injuries are just going to go away if you stretch. Or you run more. Or you lift some weights. Or you cross train. The chronic injuries will stay because of joint misalignment's. When the joints are misaligned, they’re structurally unstable. Muscles have to work harder and tighten and compensate for the abnormal mechanics which in time our muscles tendons and ligaments get inflamed and damaged. And in time it will turn into arthritis. So do a quick change of mind, get an exam, get a couple adjustments and start running pain free with ease and speed. If the pros can do it, you can do it too.
